Amie is a dedicated Reiki Practitioner & Yoga Instructor. She has worked hands on, in the field of health and wellness for several years. where she has had the opportunity to work with a broad range of people and expand her understanding of optimal health immensely.
REIKI called to Amie in 2017 and she has since had a passion filled & JOYFUL journey with this ancient modality. Through her hands Reiki has brought relief from physical pain, REDUCED STRESS, better sleep and increased energy levels to her clients. Amie also blends her passion for teaching with her love of Reiki in her Reiki Certification Courses.
At the age of 11 Amie found her YOGA mat (which was really a towel on her living room floor) for the first time, when she discovered early morning re-runs of Lilias Yoga and You (a PBS program from the 70s). It wasn't until her late 20's that she made a deeper commitment to her practice. During this time she found herself trying to cope with severe ANXIETY and adrenal burnout. She was dedicated to learning from her anxiety, her stress and her body. Amie found yoga acted as a grounding, SAFE SPACE for her to find her-Self again. In 2017 she completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training at De La Sol Yoga Studio in Hamilton, Ontario where she fell even more in LOVE with Yogic tradition. She believes if you can breath, you can do yoga - and enjoy it!
Amie's teaching style focuses on learning how to MOVE in YOUR own BODY, just as it is, with proper alignment and MINDFUL movement.

Reiki is an ancient technique that was recently rediscovered in Japan in the early 1900s. It is often used for stress reduction and relaxation and as a catalyst for healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki can also be delivered without physical touch, for those who don't enjoy close contact.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit.

Black Pearl Treatment
Black Pearl Technique is a hands-on stress reduction modality that calms your nervous system and addresses the emotional regions of your brain. Through massage-like touch, pulsing and work with your energetic meridians you will be guided into a state of deep relaxation. This relaxed state allows for the release of deep-seated traumas and accessible healing on all levels.
During the session you lie (fully clothed), on a massage table and can expect some firm touch, which I will review with you prior to beginning. You will also notice sweeping motions and feel the light holding of energetic points at your head and feet.

Come ready to loosen your muscles, release stress and drift into an ocean of bliss. This offering combines the ancient healing modality of Reiki with the gentle practice of Restorative Yoga. Reiki is a hands-on wellness tool, it promotes deep relaxation and is a catalyst for healing on all levels. Restorative yoga is easy on your mind, body and spirit.
Each class will consists of 8 to 10 asana (poses) along with props, such as blankets and bolsters, to provide comfort and facilitate deep release. During each restful pose you will receive Reiki, helping to align your chakras and restore your energy.
For 90 minutes invite yourself to be completely free from expectations. There is no need to do/achieve anything. Simply enjoy this inward experience just as you are.

During this 7 week inquiry of the chakras you will develop a new understanding of your body, your emotions, your energy and maybe even the universe.
What to expect?
Each week we will spend time with one chakra, working to expand our sensation and awareness of how this energy centre shows up in our lives. We will discuss symptoms of imbalance and how to bring each chakra into harmony. We will use breath, visualization, meditation, journaling, yoga asana, chanting and group discussion to explore each chakra. During this series you will learn how to feel/see/experience the subtle energy of your own chakras. When you tap into the innate wisdom within, profound shifts begin to occur and access to our right path becomes more clear and within reach. Get in touch with your body while you learn & grow with Yoga. Each class will explore different fundamental elements of yoga and the body, including meditation, pranayama (breath work), asana (postures), chanting and yogic philosophy. Emphasis is placed on your understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. Learn the why's behind the poses, proper alignment for your body and engage in a practice that will compliment your life on many levels.
This class is perfect for the new and experienced Yogi/Yogini, if you have been away from you mat for a while or if you are looking to get back into a routine.
Yoga Nidra originates from the ancient Vedic texts. During practice you lie in Savasana (corpse pose) as you transition into an altered state of awareness. You will be led through four main stages of brainwave activity - beta, alpha, theta and delta, using gentle breath paired with guided meditation. The ‘goal’ of Yoga Nidra is to balance in the place between wakefulness and sleep. That being said, you cannot do Yoga Nidra wrong, there is no fail. This tranquil, deep practice is accessible to all bodies of all ages and ability. No experience necessary.
A regular Yoga Nidra practice has been shown to positively impact blood pressure, immunity, blood sugar, mood, PMS, anxiety, PTSD, sleep, focus, fatigue and general tension. It is said that 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent of 4 hours of deep, restorative sleep.
Come home to your body with the practice of Yin yoga. This gentle style is a wonderful way to connect with your body if you are new to yoga, experience pain and/or are on a healing journey. Yin is a powerful practice for experienced yogis/yoginis and anyone leading a more Yang (active) lifestyle, as it compliments Yang practices/activities and lifestyles very well. In Yin yoga, asanas (postures) are held in stillness for 3 to 5 minutes. This stillness provides space and invitation for the potential equilibrium of body, mind and spirit. The subtle practice of Yin also allows us to work our deeper 'yin' tissues - ligaments, joints and fascial tissue and even our bones, unraveling layers of tension that dynamic movement cannot always access.
A regular Yin yoga practice cultivates stillness of the mind and body, encourages emotional resilience and promotes feelings of peace and attentiveness.

Quiet your mind, slow your breath and enjoy the profound release that restorative yoga offers. In restorative yoga each asana (pose) is held for 5 minutes, or longer. Moving through the class you will be well supported with both props and personalized guidance, creating a safe space to settle into. This encourages your body to let go with ease, release more tension and achieve a deep level of relaxation. Breath and meditation will also be used to compliment the effects of this practice. Restorative yoga is wonderful if you are looking to support an active lifestyle, improve your range of motion, relieve pain, manage stress, improve your immunity or generally feel better in your body. This class is suitable for all levels and bodies.
Yin Yang yoga begins with the cool, passive Yin energy. Here we stimulate energetic channels (meridians), work deeply with connective tissue and invite harmony to each organ. During this first half of the class we will hold each asana (posture) for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the stillness of Yin energy to ground your body and calm your mind.
The second portion of the class will shift into Yang or warming, dynamic energy. Blending movement with breath, increasing blood flow and using movement to continue stimulating and balancing the meridians.
The practice winds down with a few restorative poses and a nice long savasana (corpse pose) allowing you to receive the deepest benefits of your practice.
Pranayama (breath work) and meditation are often integrated throughout the class.
All bodies and levels of experience are welcome to this class.
